The Genomic Pioneer initiative is a Corporate Social Responsibility programme of Gene Logic and Ocimum Biosolutions. This initiative aims at empowerment at grassroots level to foster improved Industry-Industry & Academia-Industry collaboration to support global Biotech pursuit for bringing improved, affordable healthcare and therapeutics. The purpose of Genomic Pioneers Award is to recognize excellence and outstanding contribution to the field of Genomics using integrated state-of-the-art approaches. The Award is funded by Ocimum Biosolutions and Gene Logic. If you are actively involved in research at Industry, University or research Institution in public or private sector, you are eligible to participate in this award. Deadline for this year’s nomination is September 20, 2008. New initiatives are being planned which includes programs focusing on Academic research centers and emerging Biotechs.

There are other new programs in pipeline. A new program will focus on emerging biotech companies working on niche Therapeutic Areas and Technologies where we can help kickstart and hone their inhouse discovery programs.

Another priority program is aimed at Research centers and leading Academia. Research Institutes would be selected and provided with affordable latest technologies to produce cutting-edge work. Institutes that have good basic infrastructure but lack resources for enhancing their technological expertise would greatly benefit from this program.
